デザインの仕事からキャリアをスタートし、IT、商品企画、ブランド運営、ファッション、リテールへと領域を広げながら、つくる側と売る側、その両方の視点を培ってきました。

現在もセレクトショップの商品企画や国内外でのバイイングに加え、実際に店頭に立ち、お客様が何に惹かれ、何を手に取り、何を選ぶのかを日々見続けています。

デザインすることだけを目的とせず、その先にある人、商品、場所、体験までを考えること。

必要に応じて国内外のデザイナーや作り手とつながり、商品をセレクトし、工場と連携してオリジナルプロダクトやユニフォームをつくるなど、プロジェクトに必要な要素を柔軟に組み合わせながら、一つの世界観へとつなげていきます。SHE DESIGNは、ブランドや場所が持つ個性を見つけ、その魅力をデザイン、商品、空間、コミュニケーションへと展開していくクリエイティブスタジオです。

/PROFILE/

2000年、西南学院大学文学部英文学科卒業。

リクルートのグループ企業であるリクルートメディアコミュニケーションズにて、『ゼクシィ』『じゃらん』『ホットペッパー』をはじめとするメディアのデザイン・制作に携わる。同時期に宣伝会議のコピーライター・ライター養成講座で学び、フリーライターとしても活動。

2003年、ECシステムや業務アプリなどを企画・開発するIT企業に入社。WEB・UIデザイン、商品企画、セールスプロモーションなどを担当し、アプリ開発プロジェクトやデザインチームのマネージャーとして、企画・デザインからチームマネジメントまで幅広く経験。

2010年、独立。

ファッションに関わる仕事への思いと、それまでのデザイン・IT・ECの経験を活かし、オーダーメイドシューズブランド「WELOVESHOES」を立ち上げる。

韓国のオーダーメイド生産背景とECを組み合わせ、在庫を持たないBtoCモデルを構築。ブランドの企画・デザイン、EC、生産体制の構築からOEMまでを手がけ、月数千足規模を生産する事業へと成長させる。

2016年より、アパレル製造・小売を展開するEVERGREYにて、商品企画、グラフィック、店舗運営に携わる。

また、パリ、ロンドン、ソウルなど国内外でブランドやデザイナーと直接コミュニケーションを取りながら、ブランドの発掘、商品セレクト、バイイングを行う。店頭での接客にも継続して携わり、商品の企画・生産から仕入れ、販売まで、リテールの現場を一貫して経験。その一方で、企業やブランド、店舗などのクリエイティブディレクション、ブランディング、WEB、グラフィック、商品開発、撮影ディレクション、展示・イベント企画など、領域を横断したプロジェクトを手がける。

これまで培ってきたデザイン、ファッション、商品開発、生産、バイイング、リテールの経験を横断し、現在はブランドや店舗、施設などのクリエイティブディレクションを中心に活動している。

/POLICY/

SHE DESIGNでは、プロジェクトの内容に応じて、デザイナー、フォトグラファー、スタイリスト、作家、職人、メーカーなど、国内外のさまざまな作り手と協働します。

一つの手法や領域に限定するのではなく、そのブランドや場所に本当に必要なものは何かを考え、デザイン、商品、セレクト、空間、コミュニケーションなどを横断しながら、プロジェクトに最適なかたちをつくっていきます。

“SHE”のロゴは、とある歌の歌詞からインスプレーションを受け、息子が幼い頃に一緒に描いた手書きの文字から生まれました。

“She may be the mirror of my dreams.” 彼女は私の夢を映し出す鏡かもしれない。

クライアント様の夢や理想をより一層の形で実現できるよう努めます。

YOSHIKO MORITA

Creative Director / Designer / Buyer

Working across design, fashion and retail, YOSHIKO MORITA creates distinctive identities and experiences for brands and spaces.

Her practice spans graphic and web design, brand development, retail and exhibition direction, buying and curation, product development and production — connecting ideas with the way they are ultimately made, presented and experienced.

Beginning her career in design, she has since expanded her practice across digital, product development, brand building, fashion and retail, developing a perspective that encompasses both creating and selling.

Today, alongside her creative work, she remains actively involved in product development, international buying and the day-to-day operation of a select shop. Working directly with customers continues to inform her understanding of what attracts people, what they choose, and how products and spaces create meaningful connections.

Rather than treating design as an end in itself, she considers the people, products, places and experiences that exist beyond it.

Depending on the project, she works with designers, makers and manufacturers in Japan and internationally, bringing together curation, product development, uniform design and production to create a coherent world around a brand or place.

SHE DESIGN is a creative studio that identifies what makes a brand or place distinctive and translates it across design, products, spaces and communication.

/PROFILE/

After graduating from the Department of English Literature at Seinan Gakuin University in 2000, Morita began her career at Recruit Media Communications, part of the Recruit Group, working on the design and production of publications including Zexy, Jalan and Hot Pepper.

Alongside her design work, she studied copywriting and editorial writing at Sendenkaigi and began working independently as a writer.

In 2003, she joined an IT company specialising in e-commerce systems and business applications, where she worked across web and UI design, product planning and sales promotion. She later managed application development projects and design teams, gaining experience across both creative direction and team management.

In 2010, she became independent and founded WELOVESHOES, a made-to-order footwear brand that combined e-commerce with a production network in South Korea.

She was involved in every aspect of the business, from brand development and design to e-commerce, production systems and OEM, eventually building the business to a production scale of several thousand pairs per month.

Since 2016, she has been involved with EVERGREY, a fashion retail and manufacturing company, working across product development, graphic design and retail operations.

Travelling to cities including Paris, London and Seoul, she works directly with international designers and brands, discovering new labels, curating collections and buying for the store. She also continues to work directly with customers, giving her first-hand experience across the entire retail process — from product development and production to buying and selling.

Alongside her work in retail, she has led creative projects for companies, brands and spaces across creative direction, branding, web and graphic design, product development, photography direction, exhibitions and events.

Drawing on her experience across design, fashion, product development, production, buying and retail, her practice today focuses on creative direction for brands, retail environments and cultural spaces.

/SHE DESIGN/

SHE DESIGN works collaboratively with designers, photographers, stylists, artists, craftspeople and manufacturers in Japan and internationally, bringing together the right people and disciplines for each project.

Rather than being defined by a single medium, the studio considers what a brand or place truly needs and brings together design, products, curation, spaces and communication to create a distinctive and coherent experience.

The handwritten “SHE” logo originated from letters drawn together with Morita’s son when he was very young.

Born from a small and personal story, the words and the handwritten logo remain at the heart of SHE DESIGN’s identity.
